XI International Piano Festival KLAVER
2018, 5–12 October Estonia Concert Hall
Artistic director Sten Lassmann
The biggest piano festival of the Baltic States and the Nordic Countries was founded in 1998 by pianist and creative director Lauri Väinmaa, who had a vision of inviting outstanding pianists, who are still unknown to Estonian music audiences, and introducing the fresh courses of the world music. We will remind you what it was like before the widespread phenomenon of YouTube, which shows most of what is happening in the world today. In addition, we wish to honour the format of a classical piano evening maintained for the last 150 years. Festival KLAVER (PIANO) is a unique piano week with the largest audience numbers in Estonia, where the artists feel the prestige of performing, and where the audience feels the prestige of being a part of it!World-class pianists Leif Ove Andsnes (Norway), Rudolf Buchbinder (Austria), Jeremy Denk (USA), piano duo Katia and Marielle Labèque (France), Brazil PianOrquestra, and many others will perform in Tallinn on 5–12 October 2018.
