With his outstanding technique and insightful interpretation, the famous pianist from Norway has attracted attention all over the world. His discography at the record company EMI Classics includes more than 30 very successful records – solo recordings, chamber music, and orchestra concerts.
Ansdnes is an enthusiastic chamber musician, the founder of the Rosendal Chamber Music Festival, one of the former creative directors of the Risør Chamber Music Festival. In 2012, he was also the music director of the Ojai Music Festival in California. Andsnes received an honorary doctorate from the Julliard School of New York (2016) and the University of Bergen in Norway (2017).
This spring season, Leif Ove Andsnes is a resident artist at the New York Philharmonic, performing concerts at the Lincoln Centre and other representative auditoriums in the world with the following orchestras: the New York Philharmonic, Tonhalle Zürich, Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin, Bavarian Radio Symphony, Bergen Philharmonic, London Philharmonic Orchestra, Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, Oslo Philharmonic, New World Symphony, and others.
