The commemorative concert marks the 70th anniversary of the Hungarian Revolution of 1956, honoring Estonian dissidents Enn Uibo, Enn Tarto, and their compatriots who suffered Soviet repression for defending Hungarian freedom.

The program features the ensemble Guitar Madness presenting their album “Hommage à Gábor Szabó”—a tribute to Hungary’s preeminent jazz guitarist, who fled his homeland following the violent suppression of the uprising. Through original compositions, the ensemble traces the milestones of Szabó’s life: from the Voice of America broadcasts that carried his playing across borders in November 1956 and the zenith of his creative career to his eventual return home and untimely death.

Organised by Vanemuine Concert Hall, the Liszt Institute Tallinn and MTÜ Loovüksus.
