Piano concert no. 2 (in B-flat major) written by Beethoven, a young man still searching for his handwriting, has a Mozart-like effect of light movement, but does not lack contrasts and dramatic elements. Soloist Ralf Taal, one of the most esteemed Estonian pianists, who has won the strong support of the Estonian music community with his masterful and sensitive playing style. Ralf Taal has been a soloist with almost all Estonian orchestras and has given numerous solo concerts. The core of piano classics -music by Schubert, Beethoven and Chopin – occupies an important place in Taal’s solo programs.

One of Beethoven’s most frequently performed piano concerts no. 3 (in C-sharp minor) is performed with Irina Zahharenkova as a soloist. Zahharenkova’s unique and mature artist’s personality captivates listeners across national borders, for example, the recording of her Scarlatti sonatas has received a lot of acclaim. The combination of serious concentration, fascinating expression, and impeccable technique has brought Zahharenkova several important competition victories (Johann Sebastian Bach competition in Germany, Alessandro Casagrande competition in Italy, Georges Enescu competition in Romania, etc.).

Ludwig van Beethoven’s centuries-old musical influence is confirmed by Erkki-Sven Tüür’s orchestral work “Phantasma”, which hides playful clues to Beethoven’s Corolian Overture.
