Pavlo Virsky Ukrainian National Folk Dance Ensemble
The Virsky Ensemble goes back to 1937 when two well-known Ukrainian ballet masters Pavlo Virsky and Mykola Bolotov brought a group of folk dancers together. From 1955 to 1975 the group was lead by Virsky under whom the company matured into the professional dance ensemble that the world knows today. In 1980, Myroslav Vantukh, an expert in folk traditions and ethnography took over the artistic direction and continued the preservation and development of folk choreographic art.
Pavlo Virsky Ukrainian National Folk Dance Ensemble has travelled the world to over sixty countries, performing for audiences in Mexico, the United States, Canada, Cuba, Venezuela, more than ten European countries, Vietnam, India, China, Brazil, Japan and others. With their high level performances, the Virsky Ensemble has delighted the audiences while teaching the world about the wonderful land of Ukraine.
